Turn signal question

Over the past month, my CBX's turn signals have been plagued by little electric "gremlins".
Intermittently, when I'd engage the button for the left turn signal, it would blink properly & then other times, blink awhile & quit completely. That seems to have passed, but now my right turn signal will stop blinking when I bank the bike hard right. Once upright, it blinks normally. If I take a turn easily, it blinks normally as well.
This is just plain weird. I've checked fuses & battery condition those appear normal. Would a flasher beginning to go bad do this? I'm looking for some ideas that I may not have thought of. The battery is 7 years old, yet specific gravity of the electrolyte is still within specs & the battery holds charge well.
If this is a connection problem, the left handlebar switch gear isn't something I can take apart & clean, is it? That's the one thing I haven't done yet.
Any ideas or related experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Greg,

If the signal is working or not working based on where the handlebars are, I would think it is some type of connector problem. The wires to your switches might be getting pulled just enough to make or break the connection.

Chris:
Thanks for the reply. Now that I think about it, I had the forks off the bike back in May to replace the oil seals. When I put them back on, I repositioned the bars a tiny bit more rearward for better comfort. There appeared to be enough slack in the wiring from both right & left switch assemblies, however, with use, they could have loosened or tighented. I'll check them out this afternoon.
Thanks again!!

Check your gauge lights too. When my blinkers on the 82 went crazy, my gauge lights also went out. It was a loose ground in the harness behind the gauge panel.

So far, the gauge lights are OK. I did check my connections this PM, everything was nice & snug. Guess I'll see what happens next time out.

Over the years, I've found it is usually a ground that causes turn signal problems.

Look around the last place you worked. Then aim at checking all the ground wiring.

You mean "resident curmudgeon and official whisky taster", Terry :?: :?: Maybe not. I think that Will doesn't like forum boards too much. :? I ran into him during Mid-Ohio.
