Hi, New Member Wisbech UK
Good Morning to you all,
My son, has just bought a 79 z for both of us, and specifically for me to tinker with, i think i infected him with the CBX gene as i had a brand new one back in 1980,
crashed it, transformed it into a Moto Martin, and raced it! (silly bugger!)
I needs a bit of sorting out but its not too bad, i have had a good look around the forum but is there a resourse for identifying wich country the bike was first registered in
the previuos owner was not sure if it came from USA or Italy... it has UK handlebars and Mileometer clocks but either or both could have been changed.
Cheers for now Brian

Welcome to the site, Brian.
Sounds like a great kid, usually it is the father buying the bike for the son and the son never gets to ride it.haha.
The usual...old pics of the Martin would be nice.

Hello Brian and welcome to the ICOA forum.
It will probably be next to impossible to determine where the bike was first registered without a paperwork trail.
However: Check if the bike has an ID plate riveted on the steering neck. Only U.S. and Canadian bikes had that.
If the rear shocks are still original, are they adjustable? - not U.S.
Does the rear fender have a red reflector? - not U.S.
Does the right side handlebar switch have a "lights on-off" switch? - not U.S.
Pictures would make it easier, of course.
You can e-mail pics to mike.simon70@yahoo.com , I will post them for you.

Hi Brian and
,
I have a special place for the Moto Martin, in my garage.
You have fine taste in motorcycles.
Best,
Phil
