New Member from W. PA - USA

Post by FourHondas »

Greetings,

I purchased a 82 Prolink last December - my first CBX. It had not been ridden since 1992, so I had a lot of work to do over the winter.

Believe it or not, I'm struggling with the carbs - LOL. I'm learning a lot and I'm getting help from nearby Dave79.

I hope to be at the Dragon in June - if all goes well.

Welcome to the site, Fourhondas.
Having a helpful CBX guru nearby is a huge plus.
Okay, gotta ask. What are the other 3 Hondas?

Welcome, FourHondas!

I am looking to definitely identify the last month 82s were built. What's the VIN and build date of yours??

1976 GL1000
1989 Transalp
1994 ST1100

I call my collection - "The bikes that nobody wanted" Yes, the GL1000 was popular, but not in Sulfur Yellow. The ST1100 was much more popular in Europe and most folks have never heard of a Transalp.

I also have two Honda lawnmowers, 1985 and a 2015, but I can't ride them.

The build date is in the right upper corner of the VIN plate that is riveted on the steering neck. It should say 8/81. Thanks!

I always thought, the yellow '76 GL1000 was the best looking color of the early 3 years.
The ST1100 is an awesome bike. Years ago, when I was asked what bike I would own if I could own only one, my response was :"a Honda ST1100"!
The Transalp was too early for a success. Now that everybody has a "Dual Sport" and virtually every manufacturer tries to have a model that can chase the BMW GS, it would be a great bike.
