What are you looking for as far as condition?

Thanks for your "welcomes" & Dave on here has been a big help with his time & advice on the CBX I have been looking at on eBay.

Basically I will be exporting a bike to the UK & am looking for as good a condition that I can afford.

Normally when you import a bike into the UK you have to pay 5% duty & 20% VAT, this is worked out on the total cost of purchase price & shipping costs, however, there is what they a call a "30 year rule" which basically drops the import charges down to a flat 5%, this is a big difference & makes the whole process a lot more attractive to buyers over here, however on a -ve for you guys it may push your prices up over there !!

To qualify for this 5% the bike has to be "as it left the factory" so rules out anything that has been modified from stock. This is not a problem for me as ideally I am looking for a bike that has not been altered, & it will be a bike that is ridden regularly.

Not that I want to tell you to bend the rules....I have shipped motorcycles they other way (from Europe to the U.S.) and to minimize problems and cost with import, I have taken parts off bikes or disassembled them completely.
This may also help you with the requirement of having a bike "as it left the factory". Just think of the exhaust - any CBX you may find for a decent price may not have the stock exhaust. Taking it off and shipping it separate may circumnavigate the issue.

Suppose as long as it looks standard then you should be ok, doubt with govt cutbacks they are going to employ an expert at customs.

Problem would be to find one......not many people around anymore that REALLY know a CBX
