New member from Southern Indiana

Post by whatscooking »

I would like to jump in and introduce myself. I have been on something with two wheels and a engine since 1966. Growing up the way I have has taught me the value of taking care your stuff. I have been retired for a short time.
I currently have a very nice complete 82 CBX that was JRs that I recently brought home. He did many upgrades on the bike.
While checking what a local dealer had hid in a back building I stumbled upon a 79 CBX totally complete with just over 7,000 miles. I have brought her home with me and hopefully getting another one running.

Yippee! Another Indiana owner. So, where abouts in Indiana? I'm in the south-east corner, near Cincinnati.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Howdy.
Having seen lots of pics of the beauties that JR builds, you must be very popular everywhere you stop.
Are you going to restore the '79 to stock or will it be a hot rod as well?

Some of our favorite riding is between you and us. And of course, across the river in Ky.

There are several CBXers in the Cincinnati area, and one of the really good CBX mechanics, Jim Zemanek.

The bike I got from JR was his 82 that he kept stock looking but many sweet upgrades and yes every time I take it out people are snapping pictures and pointing and smiling.
The 79 I am working will be kept stock. It is so close to stock now it should not take allot to make her a runner. I have the carb kits and needle and seats now, I am getting the special tools together to do things right.
