What RPM?

Got the bike out and up to highway speeds today.
Seems like the rpm are high for the speed, but maybe that's the way it is.

What kind of rpm should I be seeing in high gear around 60MPH?

Thanks

Thanks, that's just what I needed.
RPM is right where it should be so that's great.

Everyone's first impression is that the rpms are too high for a given speed. Hondas from this era are built to rev, and the CBX is no exception. It'll cruise at 7500 rpm all day with ease.

Most newbies right away want to gear the bike up. I always advise against it. Your take-off power and around-town drivability will be compromised. Honda usually gets the gearing about right.

That's just what happened to me, thought I wasn't in high gear at first , so shifted again, but no more gears.
Then I wondered if it wasn't going into high gear so counted them, that was fine.
That's what led to original post.:)
