New member intro

Post by classicnvintage1 »

Hello from the New Forest.

I have joined the forum because I have just bought a CBX that has been standing for quite a long time. My biking history has really mainly been Honda and British classics over the last 40 years. In recent years I've settled down into ST1100's and BMW airheads. I prefer the ST1100, but nice ones are getting a bit expensive now for my liking. I commute to work daily on one. I did have a Honda 90 for shopping until recently, when someone broke into my shed and nicked it. I've also had a Benly, CB175, CB350, CB400 and a VFR750.

I found the CBX when I decided to look for a CB175 FOR SHOPPING! The Brit side has been my main classic bike interest until I came across the CBX yesterday - a motley collection of the usual suspects over the years. I don't count the Cub or the Pan as classics. Not too sure if I have been wise with the CBX purchase - at the moment the carbs have probably got a jammed float, flooding fuel anyway, the starter solenoid/relay doesn't function and the brakes need a service kit each. There are other minor issues and obviously, I don't know what the engine is really like until I get it started! I plan on buying the solenoid from Ebay this weekend and putting a question about the carbs on the forum.

Welcome to the site, Classic.
Plenty of U.K. members here if help is needed.
Searching for a 175 and find a CBX? I'd say you made out all right.

Welcome and good luck with the new bike. Careful with the E-Bay solenoids -- some do not have enough length on the wire leads.
