Can anyone tell me if an 81centre stand will go on a 79 CBX.
What are the differences between them?
thanks mark.

No - the Pro-Link stand will not work on the early model - not even close. Sorry. And welcome to the forum! Early stands are getting hard to find, but they are out there.

Nice one Dave as i was just about to put some cash down on the stand.
Any ideas on where i might find a 79 centre stand outside of E.bay?
Cheers for your help.
Mark.

I hear that sellers ask anywhere from $75 to $90 for a used 79 centerstand. Compare that with what you would pay at ebay for one. ebay may still be your best bet.

Hi
My 80X has side stand, six into six pipes and I was wondering if a centre stand can go back on as is?

Hi
I have been quoted by Louis Mintrone $275 for a stand. Unfortunately Louis is unable to guarantee it will fit with the six into six pipes I have. Louis was great with the replacement speedo I ordered with quick delivery.

The recent pictures that Steve Murdoch posted in the "What did you do to your bike today" shows that a CBX with 6-6 pipes stands quite nice on the c/s. May be he will confirm this. It may depend what kind of 6-6es you have

As far as this price quote is concerned, I will not comment, but you may be better off looking for a basket case or complete rolling chassis for $1,000 - $1,200 and use it for spare parts. You will recover your expenses in no time.

Michael, you can retain the center and side stands on the early and Prolink models with a Pipemasters system.
The side stand on my '79 could use a slightly longer tab but it is there.
The Denco 6-6 system sits lower and while it allows for the retention of the center stand i took mine off.

i just installed a centerstand onto my 1979 CBX from a 1982 CB750F
I took photos comparing it to my 1979 CBX stand. Almost identical. The CB750 one has gussets welded by the pivot point. The horn is a tad different, the pads are a shade different,
