Hello all

Post by Michael N »

Hi Everyone , just figured I would check in . My name is Michael and I am a native of Boise , Idaho where I have lived most of my life . My Dad Norton1 recently gifted me his 1982 Honda CBX Super Sport and recommended I join the forum in case I needed any help with anything .

I am 41 years old and currently an unemployed Electrician/Stay at home Dad . I have a wonderful Wife that I have been married to for 18 years (she says it only seems like 30 to her) and 2 wonderful Daughters . I stay pretty busy taxiing my kids to Cheerleading and Softball practices and am enjoying the time I get to spend with them now .

My first bike was a Briggs and Stratton powered Tote Goat when I was a kid that my dad Hot Rodded so it would do over 35 MPH . After that I bought a 1969 Honda CB 175 which I later traded to my Grandpa for a 30-30 hunting rifle and a new set of skis . In High school I purchased a 82 Kawasaki GPZ 550 which I rode until I was ran over on it my Senior year . After that I bought an 81 GPZ 550 which I roda for about a year before selling it . My last bike was a 1996 FZR600 that was basically a race bike with blinkers and I rode it until I had an epiphany one day that if I continued riding it my Wife was gonna wind up raising our 2 small children by herself so I sold it . I did own a 1969 Triumph TR6R Tiger for about a year but it didn't get ridden much and was eventually sold when we needed cash . Its been 8 or 9 years since I have owned bike and I wasn't really looking for one but my father generously gave me this one and I am looking forward to more leisurely rides with my Dad in the Pacific North West .

Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you along the road and riding again .

Here is a picture of my not quite perfect but ever so Lovely in my eyes 1982 CBX .

I have the same model 82 CBX in mothballs here in Mountain Home. Well, it's ready to go except need for forks rebuild. Commute with it sometimes so perhaps see you in Boise as that's where I work.
Cheers!
