No personal experience with LPM but a couple members of OldSkoolSuzuki were happy with their side covers on their Katanas.

Thanks for that. I'm trying to be a little cost conscious ...me thinks restoration will not be cheap...me thinks wife very mad when finished!

For the extra $40 I'd go with the known bulletproof solution that the fiberglass offers - You're going to spend 2X or 3X that getting it painted so you don't wanna have to go through that again after you get a crack or other defect fixed

Latches? Do you mean the brackets that attach it to the seat? Can you reuse the ones on your old cowl?ahlenius1 wrote:Thanks Don. Took your advise and ordered the fiberglass one from David Silver now all i need is the Latches that attach to it...any Ideas?

There is a left and a right, the mounting tabs to the tail point in opposite directions, there is no spring but if you want to tighten them up a bit you can put a zip tie around the grab handle brace at the point where the latches come in contact (hook) to, this increases the diameter of the brace thus taking up the slack. I have been doing it this way for 15 years, you just want to make sure the latches aren't too tight or they will put too much stress on the tail section at the bumper/bumpers.ahlenius1 wrote:Thanks Louis, I have one latch are they both the same and it seems kind of loose are they supposed to have a spring? Alot of owners don't realize the correct way to re-mount the seat, after placing the seat on the bike you can adjust the height and tension of the seat and tail by pressing down on the seat before you tighten up the two mounting nuts on each side of the bike. Thats one reason why the seat mounting tabs are slotted.
