Speaking for myself, the OEM repops are already being done, I'd like to see the old original Kerker megaphone pipe(not the fake Kerkers being sold today) brought back in Stainless with the Hindle head pipe mounting system.
If you need picks I can provide them.
Price well thats another issue altogether, have to think on that one.

Okay, give me a day or so to dig everything out. These could also be made to except a mid pipe to allow anyone to use canisters if they don't like the megaphone look.zorstec wrote:yes these sound like fun to make, old school design, please email photos and let get going with them eh
thanx jeff
By the way, when we did a dyno test on most the pipes available back in the 90's both of these pipes were the two top performers HP wise.

1st pick, the Kerker from the collector back, notice how the older Kerker tucks under the motor and follows the line of the foot plate so well.
2nd, 3rd and fourth picks, the Hindle system with a two piece header mounting system using spring retension, this way the pipes can be removed without replacing the header gaskets.
Notice how the Hindles also hugs the motor and with a mid pipe you can also upsweep the mufflers and also use canisters or a megaphone.
I'll post more on bike and some of the systems off the bike.

yes it looks like its made for the bike.
this is what i am interested in doing, a nice neat fit.
what sort of prices are we looking to make these for people to buy?
is it a 6 into 2 or 6 into 1?

Zorstec,
"ok, what sort of price would these be worth to people to buy?
could do with a group buy if your reading this anybody else that would be interested???"--maybe a better direction would be to tell the members what $$$ figure you would be able to produce the suggested "pipes" for and then the "market" would decide for you if sufficient interest was there to consider production. Seems a more reasonable approach to take than trying to get members to assign a cost to an item they might not have the proper experience to comment on. Surely you as the craftsman would know better than anyone what it's going to cost to make them from a time, materials, setup costs etc point of view.
Having said the above my thoughts are not what would I, or others, pay for this system but instead -What price would you be able to sell a single set for? If this $$$ number is favorable then you will most likely generate additional interest.
Just my 0.02c worth.

Zorstec, I prefer the 6 into 2 pipe on the CBX, its a more balanced look and like I stated before the 6 into 2 systems were the best performing pipes we tested, the Bassani was the best performing 6 into 2 into 1.
You don't have to re-invent the wheel here, the Kerker and Hindle were great looking and performing pipes and if you could offer them in stainless the weight savings would be an added benefit.
Tims 6 into 1 should give you an idea of what the market would bare but I would imagine a stainless 6 into 2 could demand a higher price.
