Carb Cleaning Questions

I have access to an ultrsonic cleaner. Not large enough for the whole rack at once...can hold one or two carbs at a time. Other than removing the bowls...do I have to strip down the carbs any further? If so...what do I have to do? How effective is this method as far as cleaning the exterior surfaces? Thank for all the responses

Jim Zemanek put my carbs in his ultra-sonic cleaner, and 30 minutes later, they looked like new. We stripped them of bowls, domes, slides, and jets.
He soaks the brass pars in a seperate dish of a common chemical, but I can't remember what it was. Old-timers is setting in.......

Be careful of some ultra- sonic cleaner fluids as they contain ingredients harmful to aluminum. Put a test piece in first... I "think" the nasty ones are Ammonia based...
"Scrubbing bubbles"... do the work, so open the system up to allow the fluids to access the areas needed to clean... Where there is "liquid " contact, there is cleaning action going on.....
