For the silver base color I used PPG DMD1696 Coarse Silver Dollar.
Then for the color coat I used the following: One quart of DBC500 Deltron Base Coat clear as a binder and I mixed a four ounce bottle of Alsa Kicker Candy "Blood Red" and a four ounce bottle of Alsa Kicker Candy "Orange" to the clear. Reduce this 1/1 with DT885 or equivalent reducer and apply five coats.
The Alsa products are available on line if not available at your local PPG dealer. www.alsapaint.com They are a west coast company and not many have it here on the east coast.
Then clear it and Dam this is it! I used an NOS tail and tank for comparison to get here and it is spot on period.

Anyone who is interested in seeing the results can email me and I will take a photo of a front fender I painted and an NOS tail and ask that you only post a comment to this link in return.
I am thrilled to share this information to the hobbist and hope many find the information valuable, and offer no appology to the those dealers who may be offended that I have shared this information.
Total approximate cost: qt. base coat clear binder $35, kicker $15 ea, silver base $50 pint, reducer $10-20 qt, clear expensive also.
