fuel inj????????
hello has anyone injected a cbx yet??? I am thinking a mega squirt with an add on to run the 3rd ingnition & suzuki throttle bodies (I know!!!"suzuki"UUGGHH)...any ideas!?!?! ...chuck

At one time Gary Alllen (California) was working with a guy to adapt mechanical injection from a Mercedes auto to a CBX. That was probably 10 years ago. I would imagine electronic would be easier now.
That said, most of us plenty of trouble with carbs, much less trying to get injection up and running. But once a workable system was in place, I would think it would be much better than stock carbs.

An electronic system using a closed loop computer with a Schule exhaust and 3 different O2 sensors (one for each pair of cylinders) would be a dream on a CBX - Would probably get you a bit more power and would surely improve the mileage by 30% or more. I'll bet 50 MPG would be in the cards with a well working system
That said, it would probably be nearly as much work to get it 'right' as building a V-12 CBX ;)

Two guys I know of, have so far sucessfully done a fuel injection conversion on a CBX. One is Stefan Jung in Germany, he has done two bikes. One is just FI on a Moto Martin framed CBX with custom bodywork, the second one has a blower with intercooler and water injection.
The other gentleman is Jean-Luc Millet from France. His bike and work was featured in an earlier CBXPress.
It is not as easy as it sounds. If you want to do FI to get more performance, don't.

why would anyone want more HP!????????????????????????.. 38mm throttlebodies & a decent ing "should" help the HP!! but I will settle for a good clean running CBX!!! the second one "may" have strait intakes!!?? Thread resurrect.
The first post mentioned MegaSquirt, which I have a little experience in, and I've considered trying the same route. Luckily MS has come a good ways in the past two years since this was posted. I believe MS2 was just coming out at that time, and MS3 is out now as well.
MS2 could handle the CBX, with a spark output to spare since the cylinders are paired and you could run a wasted spark setup like stock. If you wanted to go full sequential you would need to look at MS3. My only requirement for the effort would be to run coil on plug spark, which is fine with a wasted spark setup as well, just pairing triggers.
Making a manifold and fuel rail would be the hardest part. In-line fuel pumps are affordable now, but getting the injectors to sit well on the intake tract (whether with individual throttle bodies or in runners with a shared plenum) would be tough. I've thought about it a little, and would use a distribution block with hoses to each (top fed) injector, and then find a simple way to fasten the injector body to the manifold. This would be much easier than depending on the rail to provide even pressure on each set of o-rings and isolators to prevent fuel and vacuum leaks.
After that just weld a bung in the exhaust for the wide band O2 sensor and get to tuning.
What I haven't looked into is cam position sensors. I'm not sure what kind of sensor/signal the CBX setup puts out, and if it would be usable, or if you'd need to look at a toothed wheel setup. If so a 12-1 "missing tooth" setup would work as-is, with a secondary cam position sensor needed to go full sequential.
I've just barely begun to look into this...well, actually since putting the carbs on my workbench yesterday and realizing what I'm in for in the way of cleaning and tuning. It makes a standalone look like not such a bad idea. I just wanted to open up the discussion again.
