Exhaust sound

I was riding my bike all day today. I have a set of after market exhaust on my bike. They are Mac exhausts. I noticed today that they seemed to suddenly become louder. Is this possible. Is it possible that there are wearing inside the exhaust and allowing more sound to come out?

If the MAC are absorption type ( I dunno) it is possible to loose the packing....
