Are you trying to pull our collective legscircuscbx wrote: just an oil and spark plug change,
In any case, welcome to the site. Do you own a CBX? How come you decided on this particular bike?

......like i said.....
i am an idiot.....i thought I was upfront about that. I have two 1982 CBXs...got the first one from my dad when he died. He was crazy about his X, and I got the fever the first time I was on it. And I got the second one about a year ago. Yes, its my first bike, and I know I am crazy for learning on it. I promise to stay out of your way (and everyone else's as well, hopefully) on the highways. I just didn't know if there was anything that's not in the manual as far as oil changes. I have taken this bike to about a dozen shops (all Honda Certified, btw) out here in Cali, from San Diego all the way up to Oakland (so far) and all I hear is "That bike is too old for us to work on, and I don't know of anyone who will touch it. Its too old. But do you want to sell it? Its really a sharp bike!" I thought I might get some help here. Thanks :|

Good luck in getting your bike sorted out, circuscbx.
I went through basically the same thing a couple of years ago when i needed the top end freshened up. Nobody would work on it but if you would sell it they would be happy to oblige.
I myself have recently graduated from the idiot level mechanic. It was close but i did pass. Some of these guys are magicians/artists when it comes to working on their bikes.
Enjoy yours on any level.
