Hi I'm putting on my exhaust system, but after tightening it up, the pipes are loose and slack. Is there a certain direction of the collars to put in place? Thanks
Duane

Hey Duane.
It sounds like either the exhaust gasket or the exhaust flanges are missing. The copper or fibre gasket goes in place between the exhaust pipe and exhaust port, the flanges go around the end of the pipe with the raised lip facing away from the engine and butting up against the exhaust collar.
Hopefully my simple explanation will help with your problem.
And remember, there are no dumb questions. The fellas here have helped me with many solutions and tips to things they can do in their sleep.
Steve.

Exhaust collars
Thanks for the info regarding the exhaust collars. When I took the exhaust system off Last October, I didn't observe close enough the direction of putting them in. I flipped them around. They work fine.
