I may have the chance to obtain a #50 st st industrial chain.
I know stainless is soft but would it wear, stretch, or beat up the sprockets etc.

Comments please.

Hey Bob, does it have O rings? If not it probably ain't worth the trouble.
If it does it's probably worth a try. Just watch it for stretch

The #50 Chain if I'm not mistaken was stock on the 1969 or 1970 CB750.
And would not stand up to the power of the 750 and when failed it took the cases and the end of the crankshaft.

I would not take a chance on my CBX.

I think that you will find that #50 chain is wider than 530 motorcycle chain.
I used to use it on my XR500 to save costs. It would eat a chain every 30 or so miles. Oh the good old days.
Now they're just old days.

Thanks for the reply guys.
I doubt if it is an O ring chain as it is an industrial one.
I havn`t seen it yet but going by the replies I think I will stick to the regular one.
I had a chain wrap around the rear wheel years ago on a Triumph. It was not something I want to happen again.
Thanks again.
