New CBX owner in the Netherlands: Everpix

Post by Everpix »

Today I've become 57 years old but I already gave myself a present, which is a CBX 1000 from 1982. :D
I'm living in Leusden, the Netherlands and my job is certification of lifts/elevators and safety components.
In my live I had several one, two, three and four cilinders, but this is my first six cilinder.
I started with a Yamaha XT 500 in 1984 and I got totally 27 bikes before, so this is the 28th, my second Honda.
Aprilia: 6
Ducati: 4
HD: 1
Honda: 2
Kawasaki: 2
KTM: 6
Suzuki: 1
Triumph: 4
Yamaha: 2
The CBX has been rebuilt into a streetfighter (sorry for the purists  ), but I also have all the original parts with it, so it can always be made original again.
The complete front is from a Suzuki GSX-R, the swing arm from a Honda VFR 750, the rear wheel from a Honda VFR 800 and the head lights are from a Triumph Speed Triple.
At this moment I brought the front fender, the side caps and rear end to a painting shop. They will be painted in the same colours as the tank. To be continued!

Welcome to the site, Everpix.
Great looking birthday present. So many nice parts on your bike.
Please do post some more pics when the paint is finished.

Nice Special!
What are you using for an airbox? I’m guessing something non-stock to make room for the shock mount.

I see a lot of similar parts to my CBX despite it´s more a cafe racer ;-)
I become 56 in December :D

Why don’t you have the upward facing cable throttle control, I can’t imagine how you turn that thing without denting your tank.

I sold the bike.
But the new owner is a true enthusiast as he has put the CBX is his home as a work of art.
