Hello folks!
I am Alessio, from Tuscany, in Italy.
I don't own a CBX, yet: after many trips with my Yamaha R6 and my fantastic wife that love the R6, I finally conviced her to buy another bike that is more comfortable and more suitable for longer trips.
I can't sell my R6, because she coul'd ask for divorce  so I have to ADD one.

Initially I was searching other kind of bikes, as I like almost on-off, pures off-road, supersport, custom, oldies, and would have many of it; I has been near to buy a CB Four 350 but, then, I rediscovered the CBX, which I had read year ago, when I was young.

Now I am searching for a Pro Link to make it our next companion :)
I would like to make it safer, with new forks, modern brakes and lights, and maybe new 17" rims, to use modern tires.

I'm glad I found this forum, as I am sure we will help each other: I will put at your disposal my restoration experiences. I hope I will find "my" CBX as soon as possible!

Welcome, Alesio!

Glad to have you. I have spent a few very happy weeks touring around the Alps and Dolomites, and Sardinia. You live amidst a motorcycle paradise in Europe!

In English we’d call the style of motorcycle you have in mind a “restomod”, grafting modern components onto a vintage bike, and there are many stunning examples of those to be found here, and elsewhere. The Prolink IS, in my opinion, the superior platform upon which to build one, hands-down, Most often guys are creating these to enhance the sporting character of the bike, sounds to me like you are looking for more generally functional upgrades, to improve performance and safety while preserving its use for two-up travel and touring.

You’ll find a lot of valuable information here if you master the use of the site search, but also try searching the site using Google, that will often turn up different results. The Club also leads a Facebook group that has a few more active participants, and there are photo galleries of peoples’ bikes that might turn up reference, or simply inspiration, or a builder who’s brain you can pick :-).
