New member from the Netherlands

Post by BakkerCBX »

Hi all,
Last summer I bought myself a project: a 1981 CBX.

I'm fairly new in the motorcylce world, with just 2 years of experience. Not from the generation of the CBX, but when I heard a cbx in real life I knew I need to get one!
Former owner had it imported from Switzerland, and was planning on make a 'cafe racer'.
Now I have been busy for some time and got it up and running, with all the parts for the original look.
I will open a new topic soon to show you the progress so far and what to do next.

Welcome and congrats! I for one, appreciate the idea of returning these to their stock form. You've done a great job, by the looks.

Welcome to the site, Tristan.
Despite wanting to return it to stock i would keep that aftermarket alternator.

Thanks all,

For now im planning on keep the kawasaki alternator, it works fine + I don't need the rectifier (which I don't have).
SixCenter is relatively close by, but haven't visited yet. Heard from other CBX-ers that the owner is the expert.
