Greetings,
I am the recent proud owner of a 1981 CBX1000. I live just north of Tampa, Florida and have a workshop full of antique and vintage bikes. Up until very recently I was only interested in American bikes (Harley Davidson and Indian), but I always wanted a CBX1000. I found one on the internet, negotiated a deal and the dealer I bought if from delivered the bike to me in person. It is a beautiful bike. Next, I bought a pair of Kawasaki 1300 Voyager bikes that are absolute beasts. Those bikes are behemoths and have every bell, whistle and do-dad that you can imagine and then some. Both of them need to go on a serious diet. While the CBX1000 is ready to ride, the Kawasakis, although they both roll and run need some semi-serious work to get them road worthy, but I enjoy turning wrenches. It will be interesting to compare the two bike brands.
Other bikes include a 1941 Indian Chief, 1947 Harley Davidson UL flathead 74 big twin, 1961 Harley FLH, 1984 Harley XR1000, 1990 Harley FLH with turbo, 1994 Harley FXRP with turbo, 1996 Harley Sportster project, 1979 Honda CB750 grafted to a Harley Servicar rear end (project) and two Harley Servicar basket cases.
I am on the hunt for a Yamaha XS1100 and a Suzuki 750 water buffalo and eventually I will find them.
The guy I bought the CBX from suggested that I join this forum. It would be nice to sync up with some local CBX owners and go for a ride now and then as well as exchange ideas on how to repair and service my bike.
Thanks for listening and ride safe.
Clinton

Hey Clinton; Hope yo will do fine with your Voyagers. I own a 1982 KZ1300, which is still a carbureted version. The FI Voyagers have some parts availability issues, which will make them difficult to keep alive.

Your KZ1300 is a very nice looking bike. So far I have been impressed with the DFI engine of the 1300. Not so much with the rest of the bike (air compressor, air horn, compass, radio, cb, intercom, trip computer, headlight adjuster, .... do not work consistently on either bike). What I am thinking about doing is converting both of them to regular street bikes. I can always take my Harley FLH for a ride if I need the tour pack and the bags.
