Hello from Connecticut

Post by lovevintagebikes »

In 1977 when I was 12 we moved to a new town and the family across the street had 2 boys around 7 or 8 years older than me. The older guy had a Ducati 900ss and the younger one had a CB750F and a CB350Four. On more than a few summer days I'd stare out my bedroom window and covet those Hondas. It was a small town and most of the cool older guys had motorcycles. There was one person in town (rip) that had a CBX. He took me for a couple rides on that bike and I was hooked. One ride in particular with me sitting backwards facing the rear. Stupid, crazy stuff.
So, here we are today with a garage full of bikes to play with and keep me out of trouble. My recent a 1979 CBX with 5k miles which the previous owner disassembled to do the carbs than got sick and sold it. I'm probably going to need a little help putting it together.lol The carbs just went out to Mike Nixon for a rebuild. I'm no fool.

By "rip", do you mean rest in piece, or Rip Parsells?

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Welcome to the site, Dave.
One less thing to worry about with Mr. Nixon doing the carbs.
Feel free to post a pic or three of your bike when you get it sorted out.

He committed suicide a few years ago.
