Another new member with a 82 Prolink

Post by Prolink-Phil »

Hi Guys,
Thank you for letting me come and play, I've just brought my first CBX, haven't even had chance to ride one yet. So after a life time of light and nimble bikes, this is going to be an experience.

I live in the driest inhabited state on the driest continent in the world, we have more problems with the heat than with cold or rain, which is a massive 10 inches a year. So I basically get to ride all year round, I'm looking forward to getting my new bike on the road.

The bike, a 1982 CBX1000 was imported to Australia 2 years ago from the USA, and has never been made compliant with Ozzy laws, so that is my game plan at the moment, make the bike legal and enjoy it before I do any serious work to it.
I have lots of plans in my head, but have to find out if the bike is too my tastes first.

Hopefully I'll get the bike legal in the next two weeks and then the fun starts.

You know, Dave, they drive on the left side of the road...The kickstand has to be moved to the other side....

Hi Dave,
Running lights, MPH speedo, light dipping the wrong way, but I've done a couple of things, just trying to repair my clutch and I'm good to go, but its over 100 degrees F at the moment, so a tad warm.

Hi Phi,

Welcome to our fun factory. PM me for phone no' if you would like to chat about your CBX acquisition or need any help. Be warned though, once you get out on it for your first decent long ride, you will really fall in love with it.

Enjoy. Cheers...Tony (in Sydney)
