New Dutch Six

Post by rupsus »

Hi sixpack lovers,

I'm Sebastiaan from the Netherlands and purchased a '79 CBX last year.
The iconic 70ies sportsbike is one of my favorites since years, just like a Suzuki GT750 which was already in my garage.

The bike was in deep winter sleep for many years, so I decide to check everything before I hit the road.
During the first start-up it was running on only 4 cilinders and smoked a lot.
A compression test gives values of 6bars, so I took off the cylinder head and have the cylinders machined.

Now re-building the bike and I hope I can enjoy the 6 cylinder power and sound next spring

Welcome to the site, rupsus.
An engine rebuild is a tough way to start CBX ownership but the smart guys here should be able to help you out if you run into any problems.
Plus you have access to an excellent shop/supplier. http://www.sixcenter.nl/index.html
