Hi Guys,
I'mn not sure if i'm posting this in the correct index but here it is
I took my speedo/tach cluster out to install 140 mph speedo and when i put everything back together, my tach does not work well.
It only slowly creeps up to 1000rpm and when i rev it it goes up very slow, it's very lethargic! I disconnected the cable numerous times on and off and made sure that cable is routed properly even though i just disconnected it at the tach but nothing helped
Any ideas!
Thanks
Sasha

Re: Tach issue
You could try lubing the cable.
Another option would be to remove the cluster again, flip it over and put a couple drops only of lubricating oil in the tach itself.
You only want to use a very small amount because it can end up on the inside of the tach glass.

Re: Tach issue
I removed the cable, sprayed wd40 to clean all the gunk out and than lubed it with cable lube and no change.
It's so weird, the only thing that I did was disconnect it from the tach.
Grrr!

Re: Tach issue
So I guess I routed cable wrong. It should go over throttle cables not below, tach works fine now!
Thanks
