hello from lousville ohio

Post by oldschoolrt »

Hi, I'm new to this site but not new to ICOA. I was a member back in 1985-6 ish. I was not liked much because I have the need for speed and had no cares about modified CBX's. I had a 1979 that my neighbor had ordered and upon picking up the bike took it to a shop and had the bike taken apart and re made into a un marked crazy horse. I rode the bike often and loved it. I am a mopar nut first, jap bike nut second that said I lost contact with the bike, and years later I was roofing a small 2 car garage for a guy and inside was the cbx I joked that I would do the garage for the bike and was stunned when he said OK. anyway I have a ton of stories on these bikes and old dodge chargers and joined this site to try and find Pat Machoine, maybe spelled wrong but he owned Pheonix Cycle....second looking for the person who owned or built the full dressed CBX in my one video....can't attach to this post but youtube Rodney brown 1969 dodge charger and it's in the cbx exhaust sounds on my channel....thanks in advance for any help ...Rodney Brown

Welcome again Rodney! I also go back to those days. Pat is out of business and working at a tool shop or something similar last I heard, which was 3 or 4 years ago. He left a rather bad taste in some members' mouth due to some very poor workmanship and questionable ethics. Getting to be all old history now. I'll check out the video if I can find it.

Louisville Ohio, you're 20 mins from me, I live just west of you. Does Pat owe you money too LOL, like Dave mentioned he's out of the business and was working at a small auto museum in downtown Canton maintaining their fleet the last I heard.

I have his old # if you want it, shoot me a PM.

Very nice car. They weren't that nice from the factory, certainly didn't have that good of paint.

My cousin had a '69 Charger. It had flush mount rear glass and a flush mount grill, and goofy valve covers with the spark plug wires coming out the middle. He said it was being sold this month on the Mecum auction in Georgia.

Oh, and I can't post picture either.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Thanks to all for the welcome,

Dave79x....trying to find Pat to get an altered frame cbx...he worked on my "crazy horse"

NILS, thanks for loading that video

Jeff Bennetts, you must live in Wayne county....just roofed your court house in Wooster

Rick Pope, I had a charger 500 as you described but it did not have the elephant motor in it

If you go to youtube and put in Rodney brown cbx sounds and tell me where the full dressed red cbx came from I'd be tickled...rear trunk says Cal Customs
also have a black 6 into six pipe set, no marks on them, any idea who's pipes and what set up for carbs with pods would work on the silver perseus cbx in the middle

Thanks
