Received mine yesterday -- installed last night. While I have not seen any 'OEM' parts for comparison, I'd have to say these are definitely the right thing. Material feels proper; the fit is spot-on. Thanks, Mike.

For those of you who haven't received yours, you will notice these are about 50% 'thicker' than the old ones that you remove. That's good. The felt will compress as needed for proper fit when you install. Be certain to oil or grease them when you do install.

Yes, they are thicker but are the same thickness as an OEM felt washer.

I used the OEM measurements for the felt and the DIE cutter.

Like Larry mentioned they will compress and will not bind the linkage.

Reviving this old thread.
A new to me engine has developed an oil leak in the general area of the shifter seal.
As soon as i find the seals that Mike had made i will install them, but i don't know the proceedure.
I seem to remember reading about using dental picks and doing the swap without tearing things done? Any thoughts?

On that note. Browsing through a box of parts at a swap meet I found several packs of a part 45134-250-000 which looks exactly like that seal.
Wonder if it is still available from Honda. CMS in the Netherlands still has it for Euro 1.50/pc

I tried one of these - was buying some stuff from CMSNL anyway. They are slightly too small, with a bit of patience it might be possible to stretch them a little to get them to fit. I tried the impatient way - and ripped it :( .

Steve - a little confused by your question on 'how to install them'. These are just the felt seals on the shifter pivot, not the shifter shaft engine seal. Maybe I'm miss-reading your post. Everyone - I'll message Mike and see if he has more felts and let you know. He's not on here very much, but is still very much alive and well.

Dave, you are absolutely correct.
I have a few things to sort out on this new to me engine and got a couple of them mixed up.
Turns out even my diagnosis was wrong. The oil leak was coming from the shifter shaft seal area, turns out the bolt holding the front sprocket had loosened and backed-out enough to start leaking. A longer ride and things could have been disastrous.
