Looks like a great ride to me. We're hoping to explore that part of the continent next summer.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

I am not riding at the moment, waiting for a sprocket cover from Japan, could ride without it, but...laces and foot close to a fast moving sprocket sounds like trouble, should be out soon on two wheels. I just fire it up, waiting, for the cover-- and listening to the 6 cylinder magic. Just want to say thanks for people on this forum for the expertise here. !!
Here's what I'm up to. Clutch hub is for this fall or next year--with new oil lines...I have a 2020 Katana which is my other machine, equally brilliant, BUT there is some special magic on the CBX ...

Hope you (and others) can get out soon. I’m on the CA coast heading for points north, getting away from the HEAT where I live. BTW, laces have no place on motorcycle boots.

Turned over 37,000 Smiles today on the Oregon coast hiway, 101. Rode the coast road (1) from Bodega Bay CA all the way. The 22 mile section from the ocean to 101 @ Leggett had new pavement! More pics to follow.

Looks like a great trip. !! My last/first CBX (79 silver, sport kit) would take me all over the pacific NW, magical 6 cylinder music taking me to the concerts, beach, Cater Lake, and another Steve Miller concert "Space Cowboy" !!Dynamohum wrote: Mon Jul 15, 2024 11:46 am Hope you (and others) can get out soon. Because of work, I often just hop on the machine with laced work boots, and this nifty item from webike fits well to address the lace issue. I had to make some modifications to the mounting spacers by adding a set of steel collars. From the box, from Japan, it doesn't look like it will fit, in any way. We'll see how it goes.

I decided to stick with a 630 chain for now. Saving money and keeping this on shoestring budget before the season ends--back up clutch hub ready for action thanks to KM Carbs, left hand drill set, and MAP torch to get the buggered rivet out. So far, no hydralocked con rods :) [embed][/embed]

Re: Anyone riding these days?
I started the coast ride north from Bodega Bay. I’d planned on returning on hiway 1. I’m sorry to say it was a chore riding hiway 1. First, there were 10 TEN one lane sections with either pilot cars, stop lights or flaggers. Traffic was the heaviest I’ve seen it as lots of people like me wanted to escape the heat inland. Sadly, most were in cars, RVs, or pickups. The road where it leaves the ocean has been repaved almost all the way to 101. Niiiice! Lots of Elk near the road around Klamath. The Oregon coast is nice as usual as was the Avenue. Pictures don’t do them justice. As for the 82, it ran great the whole way, two half days of severe heat and the rest on the coast in the sun or riding thru clouds of sea mist. Also niiiiice!

Took a lil ride ‘over the hill’ to Nevada for dinner. Having a hard time deciding what to order, elk, venison, beef, chicken, bison or wild boar baby back ribs.
