Re: Felt grease seal for the shifter
Sent my last remaining felt seal off to the gasket company.
They are pretty sure they can make it once they have one in hand.
These guys also make rubber parts, like the coal bumper so once I get this felt seal squared away I'll look at getting rubber bumpers made.

Re: Felt grease seal for the shifter
The gasket cutter has the original felt seal in hand now. He indicated there wouldn't be a problem.
Now for the wait.

Re: Felt grease seal for the shifter
So far no go on the correct felt.
The cutter said if I could locate the felt he has the tooling to cut it.
So now I am looking for the right felt.
Sooner of later this will work out.

Re: Felt grease seal for the shifter
Found the felt, 2.3mm thick.
Looks like just what I was looking for.
Next is to get out out to the pattern maker.
Still will be a month or two before we see the final results.

Re: Felt grease seal for the shifter
Okay guys, just an update
I was able to get a sheet of F-3 felt, should be ideal for our application.
Next is to ship it off to Thailand and have the felt punched to size. They assured me they still have the punch die and can do the job.
Once I have the washers in hand I will again do a test fit and if satisfied I will take orders. I have a list of those of you that already want these but I will verify this once again when I am happy with the felt seals.
As always a work in progress.

Re: Felt grease seal for the shifter
Okay Guys.
Thanks for your patience!
I have the felt grease seals for the shifter assembly.
I have set the price at $10 a set; this will include postage via priority mail for stateside. For our overseas owners I'll have to look at the prices but I suspect it will be via first class and in an envelope.
You can pay by paypal ; mjvenhaus@aol.com
I will send out the orders weekly. Probably on Monday's as that is my first day off duty.
For our friends overseas I suspect the biggest obstacle will be customs and USPS pricing. I'll hit the local post office and get the necessary form. I believe it is the form 2976. On smaller orders I can probably tape them to a card and stuff it in an envelope.
I have the following guys in queue:
Aris 1 set
EMS 4 sets
JT 3 sets
Larry 2 sets
Joner 2 sets
Goss 4 sets
Kbart1 2 sets
Cross 2 sets
First a heads up here: While these are good they are not OEM. I will send them with the inner circle still attached but punched out so they maintain shape. I have used them on my CBX and have found they do not bind the linkage and they do hold the grease or oil. They will deform if you tug at them. If you are careful and keep the shape they will do the job they are intended for.

Re: Felt grease seal for the shifter
I have a couple of these from Mike and can say that they are first cabin, highly recommended !!
It is really nice to see someone go to the lengths that Mike has with these to help out the CBX community.
I know that it was no easy task for either time or money.
Very Best,
Phil
