Re: NEW, FROM LONG ISLAND, NY
Welcome to the site, Mike.
Cool looking bike. The electrics set-up under the seat is very tidy.
I see the forks have been slid up into the trees by 2"? Doesn't this compromise the ground clearance?

It is droped only about an inch compare to the stock, so far no problem with clearance. The rear end is raised 1.5", I am 6.4 tall

Beautifu job Mike209, just lovely. Don't normally take to customs (appreciate the effort, but just not my cup of tea), but yours is really nice.
Bummer about the cams being in wrong. Many have discovered this 'Gotcha!' the hard way - myself included. The extra stress on the cam chain opening twice as many valves as normal puts chain breaking stress on the chain. You were lucky to catch it without something going 'bang!'.
How did you manage to get your carb bodies looking so beautiful? They look just FANTASTIC!
And oh, I nearly forgot, Welcome Aboard!
cheers..Tony

Thank you Tony, I used dremel and stainless steel brushes (different sizes and shapes) to remove oxidation and brass brushes to give it a shine and remove swirls , worked out well for me.

Hey Mike ,
and
I also like your work on this Cafe CBX . Hopefully I can see it in the flesh
soon since we are not too far apart ( NJ ) . In spite of the population in the tri state area, there are very few of us
left riding these bikes, unfortunately ! Where are you from originally ?
Anyway , great job !
