:? :? Again, I am not sure...but will no change in length be a reliable sign of no fatique? And as a little side note: The highest load on the crank bearings does not occur at high rpm :!: It occurs at low rpm and wide open throttle. This is when rotating masses do not compensate for load and gas pressure above the piston is high. This is why most damage is done to bearings and rods during acceleration.

I agree with you Mike, it's not 100% guarantee but it will tell you if the bolt has gone past it's elastic limit where failure is just around the corner...
