**Emergency!!**

I was able to move the bike and get it on the center stand all by my onesie!!

Managed to get the right cover off and a 17mm wrench on

It turns!! about 1/8 or so so i did that back and forth a few times

Somebody owes me money!

Now the bad news, I had a really hard time getting the #1 plug out (shifter side first plug) I was quite unhappy about it. See attached pic:

Unlikely it was my doing, Thankfully the OEM toolkit was in its correct place. After ranting about the Goon that changed the plug last, I squirted a healthy amount of PB blaster and the removed #6 with no issues. Again more PB blaster. It does sound like hell when I turn it that 1/4 turn and it does kind of a hard stop. Enough for today, I gotta get it home. I pic'd as much of the chewed threads as I could and screwed it back in as far as i could finger tight

Really don't want to take the head off, I think my only option is to get on of those thread repair kits, not ideal but it may be the only option. My fear is where the cut filings end up.

What size would I need? 14mm??

If you cannot turn the crank through a complete 360 degrees, it’s not free. Taking at least the head off is absolutely necessary now. This one is going to be an $$$$ project.

Leave it where it is. Seriously.

I'll inject the money part of this, then I'll shut up about it. If you have $10-$15K to put into this wreck (and you'll be lucky at that number), then you have $10-$15K to buy a pretty decent rider that's ready to go. Trust us - this one is NOT worth the headache and heartache, especially with your restrictions. Do not put one more dime or one more minute into this one. If you were literally given it, take it for parts only.

As much as you want this bike listen to the experts here and
walk away. Like Dave said, for the money you are going to
spend you could get a running rideable CBX. Even a used
running CBX in fair to good condition can be challenging
and expensive for a first time CBX owner.

I hear all of you and I'm leaning to parting this thing out but I want it at my home the investigate further. Drop the motor and pull all the plugs, stick my little camera in and see how the cylinders look. At this point, if there is a rust ring holding up the motor in 1 or more cylinders I'll address that. I realize it could be something more sinister, But I have hope like I do with women which usually ends in heartbreak. Sadly i have no one to ask about this thing where an answer could be "I'm just to old to ride" which according to her, that is the case. Also according to the daughter it was last running around 2016. I just can't give up.

I'll probably hit her up for one of the older honda's, 2 cylinders and easier to get parts, I hope

Your right, theoretically I didn't "turn it over" but its not "frozen" I did get some kind of movement. I have seen the guy on youtube who had bought one and spun his around but there was major engine/transmission damage

I wouldnt say it sux. You got a CBX for free.
Pick it apart with the help of this forum and the allways present factory service manual.

You will learn a ton and also if you decide to part it out, you can finance a better CBX. Or better save the parts for your upcoming projekt.
