not sure how intent you are on keeping it stock but Core-Moto has a two line conversion for the front brake which eliminates the front splitter(does an 82 have a splitter? not sure) so two brake lines instead of three, supposedly this makes bleeding the brake lines a little easier...

Thanks for the info wyly, the 82 does indeed have a splitter with three lines, I'll definitely look into Core-Moto.

You should buy a Mityvac vacuum brake bleeder, cost about $30.00. It makes bleeding your brake lines easy, including the splitter. After rebuilding my rear master cylinder I could not get it to pump brake fluid to the caliper, air locked I assume. Connected the Mityvac bleeder and bled the brakes with no problem. Also makes changing the brake fluid very easy. Connect the vacuum bleeder to the bleeder screw and pump out the old brake fluid while adding fresh brake fluid to the reservoir. Changing the brake fluid regularly will virtually eliminate problems with brake calipers like sticking brakes and leaking caliper piston seals.
