Hello and help

Post by Edster »

The automatic fuel valve on my 81 pro link has a torn diaphragm, I’ve discovered this part is made from unobtainium, any suggestions on how to repair or find a new valve?

Just removed the whole valve system, do a search there is a lot of information on it here, maybe even an aftermarket source in the information, don’t know but it’s worth the search here.

Many of us just remove that valve and use the petcock as an ordinary system. However, if you do want to replace it Louis Mintrone can likely have one. usedcbxparts@hotmail.com I don't know of anyone making replacement diaphragms.

I replaced mine with a normal gravity feed one. Just close the tap after each ride....

That works best! (You won't forget to turn it on. Automatic reminder within first km. :P )

Thanks everyone for your help, especially Larry for Louis’s contact email. I contacted Louis and he took care of me. I thought about bypassing the automatic fuel valve but wanted to keep the bike stock. Thanks again for the help!

Is your valve with 3 or 4 screws?

Diaphragms are not available for those. If you had gotten 4 screw one like the one for '82, diaphragms are still available
