A CBX had been on my "wish list" for a loooong time. I finally found a pretty nice example (a 1979 from the original owner who had bought it when he was 34 years old. It came with original invoice from dealer, original handle bar tag, etc.) The bike has 12K miles on it. It seems that last registration was 1993 . It was not in the (DMV) system anymore so I had to do the VIN verification with CHP. It is all done now (registered and insured). I need to address a few minor issues (replace fork seals. Find and identify an oil leak in the oil cooler area/cyl heads, get the tach working correctly - it is "lazy" and the needle is not going past 4K). I have two other bikes, a custom built Scrambler (HD Sportster), and a stock 1978 Yamaha XT500 (and unfortunately I also have a passion for vintage cars :-) I am glad to have found this CBX owners club and to have been accepted as a member. Looking forward to meet likeminded riders and get valuable help and information when needed

Welcome to the site, Gipsy.
Excellent first post. Great looking CBX.

With the Burly Sportster, do you assemble it yourself or do they do the conversion? Just curious.

Don't know cars but i am guessing a '72 Ranchero?

Hey Steve,
thank you. Spot on re Ranchero. It is a 1972 GT with 351 Cleveland.
I bought the Harley like this. It was a one off built by David Zemla. I think he did a great job. Had the bike for almost 3 years and now that I found a CBX I am probably gonna sell the Harley...

Very nice, complete, original CBX. Perhaps I will get a look at it one of these days.
I am in Marina del Rey. Where in LA are you?
Best,
Phil

Let me add that all of your bikes look very nice.
You might want to have a look at the chain roller on the sporty.

Welcome! Nice looking CBX you've found. If you work on your own bikes, do your research for whatever maintenance/service task you do. Search any topic here and there will likely be volumes written about it. But don't hesitate to ask away for help.

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome and the comments.

@FalldownPhil I am Laurel Canyon/Mulholland area (gonna sell the Sporty - and well spotted re chain roller - that thing gave the mechanic some headache and was a bit of a challenge) It might look awkward but it does the job :-)
