Hi
Ive just joined this forum and would like to introduce myself,My name is Tony and ive owned a CBX 1000Z since 1981.The bike has not been run for over 20 years and has spent the last 6 years out side wrapped in plastic
and looks in a bad way mainly due to to the plastic coating on the frame peeling off.
The bke was stripped to the frame in 1985 the frame was plastic coated and any thing that could be chromed was chromed including some alloy parts, these are the parts that have not lasted ive inquired about removing the
chrome and it would be a lot cheaper to just buy second hand spare parts as i want to put the bike back to standard.
Ive finally got a garage to do the restoration in and cant wait to start as seeing this bike in its present condition is not good for me,im in no rush as i have another bike for summer use,to old to ride through English winters now.
ill post some pics of bike when i get started, but for now whats best method to permantly remove rust as i intend to spray the frame black .
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks Tony
