New member from Rhode Island with a 79
Hey everyone. I'm close to finishing a 79 basic restoration . I had the usual issues; master cylinders, fuel tank, carbs and paint. By far the fuel tank was the worst. I ended up sectioning 2 tanks to make 1 good one. The last issue I'm dealing with is the chain adjusters after I upgraded to a 530 chain and sprockets. I cant figure out how the stops go back together.

Are you sure, your 79 is a 79? It has a lot of 80 stuff on it. Tail, wheels, rear shocks, front forks...

Splicing together a tank? That takes a lot of skill.

Yes, it also has the bigger oil cooler, large valve cover grommets, silver-painted starter - all '80 parts. What does the VIN plate say?
