Smoking question
Smoking question
1980 CBX-SS 7000 miles since rebuilt at Tim's. When started cold, it gives blue oil smoke from both exhausts for 3-4 minutes and then stops. No further smoking with warm starts after that and none during riding. Can't detect any appreciable oil loss on the dip stick. Runs great otherwise. I am guessing valve seals, but they usually smoke on every start from my experience. Anyone else had this problem?
Re: Smoking question
I forgot that I had already posted this question. This memory thing is getting to be a pain! I wonder if they will let me keep my CBX in the the nursing home......

Symptoms are that of a small, slow oil leak into the combustion chamber when bike is parked. Most likely through the valve stem seals.
Not a terrible thing, but something that comes with age and is part of a proper engine overhaul.
