Fuel petcock replacement
Hi all, tried to some searches online and on forum and came up empty handed, is there no other Honda model that shares the same petcock as the 1980 CBX? Called Honda today and they told me no parts or whole thing!! thanks in advance, Fred.
Cheers, Fred

Re: Fuel petcock replacement
Rebuild kits are readily available. My 10 year sleeper leaked like a sieve. I drilled out the rivets and put a kit into it, but put it on the shelf and replaced it with a Pingel.

Re: Fuel petcock replacement
Most older Hondas used the same rubber "biscuit" as the CBX. Just drill out the rivets and tap the holes for small screws. Way cheaper than a Pingel, and it will flow more gas than a stock bike can use.

'79, '80', '81 all had the same petcock
Have a look at a rebuild post from Randakks.

Re: Fuel petcock replacement
Well, almost. The '79 petcock had a 1/4 inch outlet and a longer standpipe for reserve, which took a '79-only screen. You can run without the screen but you need the o-ring. The '80-'81 petcock had a 5/16 outlet and a different reserve standpipe. That screen kit is still available for about $40. Most all NOS petcocks you find now are the 469 part number. It is really hard to get an old screen out of the tank without ruining it. But any of the above can be rebuilt to work find as mentioned previously.
