New guy from Colorado Springs

Post by rxmangriff »

Just dropping in to say hello. I took delivery of my 3300 mile 79 CBX yesterday as the eclipse was beginning. The delivery eclipsed the sun's eclipse!! Very good day! I'm familiar with the bike forums as I am a long time member at SOHC4.net so I appreciate the value of these forums and the expertise of the membership. In addition to my new CBX I am an original owner of a restored 1975 Honda CB750F, a second one I refer to as my hot rod which was built from it's take off parts (~85%), a CB1100F which was delivered along with the CBX, and a BMW K1200GT that I brought home a month ago. I've already noticed some SOHC4 guys on here so that enhances this forum's credibility in my eyes. :-) I look forward to hanging out with you guys.

With that being said my first objective is to rebuild a leaking petcock so I can take her for a nice spin. I've already researched Motogrid.com and found that replacements for my type are not available.

Welcome and you can rebuild your petcock. Or you can still buy a replacement. All you need to do is drill out the rivets and replace the sealing rubber in there. Petcock rubber # 16955-268-020. You can rivet it back together or put small bolts in. It is a simple fix.

Welcome to the site, griff.
A CBX and 1100F on the same day? What eclipse is right?
Feel free to post pics of any/all of that impressive stable.

Welcome to our little corner of cyberspace. It sounds like you have a nice collection of bikes. I also have a SOHC4, I call it my CB836Kafe.

There's some pretty good riding in your area. :D

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

Thanks for the welcomes :-)

Looks like I'll be swapping out for the new petcock this weekend. Time for my first ride.

I'm still in the process of figuring out this site and my new Flickr account after Photobucket hosed everyone.

Here is my new baby

She arrived on the same truck as this sweet CB1100F but from 2 different locations.

I bought this Candy Sapphire Blue CB750F new in 4/75. After I did the restomod on it I used all the take-offs to build my Flake Sunrise Orange CB750F.
