Cbx 1000 z frame number
Have a 1979 cbx 1000 frame. Does anyone know a method for detecting the frame number, as appears to have been rubbed away?

I've had cables mess up a vin plate but never wear away the stamped numbers on the steering stem.

Honda replacement frame? Thus, no number stamp?

I think it was either deliberately removed, or is a new replacement, as it is in as new condition.steve murdoch icoa #5322 wrote:I've had cables mess up a vin plate but never wear away the stamped numbers on the steering stem.

As it is in as new condition, then this might indeed be the case?

Re: Cbx 1000 z frame number
Some of the replacement engine cases came with no i.d. numbers but i have not heard of frames coming like that.
Any chance the frame has been powder-coated and the numbers are just filled-in?
If you have some paperwork with numbers you might try sending them to EMS. Mike MIGHT have some info on your bike.
