Cbx 1000 z frame number

Post by Littleeagle28 »

Have a 1979 cbx 1000 frame. Does anyone know a method for detecting the frame number, as appears to have been rubbed away?

I've had cables mess up a vin plate but never wear away the stamped numbers on the steering stem.

I think it was either deliberately removed, or is a new replacement, as it is in as new condition.

As it is in as new condition, then this might indeed be the case?

Some of the replacement engine cases came with no i.d. numbers but i have not heard of frames coming like that.
Any chance the frame has been powder-coated and the numbers are just filled-in?
If you have some paperwork with numbers you might try sending them to EMS. Mike MIGHT have some info on your bike.
