Primary shaft

Hi Guys

My new primary shaft main bearing has just arrived, however looking at the shaft, there is a bevel washer which goes between the main bearing /Bearing holder, up against a shoulder on the primary shaft against the small needle roller bearing which the starter assembly turns on. My photo I took of the assembly is not good enough (must take more care!) to show which side the bevel side of the washer goes up against- The bearing or the shoulder. the witness marks on either side of the washer are inconclusive, as is the manual diagram.

I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction on this one please.
