Re: Battery
Get a good AGM battery. They have more power to start these old bikes. Some have 320 cranking amps.

Re: Battery
Here's what I've been using in my '82. https://www.chromebattery.com/m2218y-mo ... 8l-a3.html Excellent delivery , price, and quality. (3 years, now. I top it off with Battery Tender for 10 minutes every 6 weeks during Winter. Sits in garage.) Whichever you get, do the AGM route.

Re: Battery
Yuasa recommends the YTX24HL-BS. I have had great luck with Yuasa products--you may pay more up front but when it still works 5 years later it is worth it.
One source is Yuasa themselves at Yuasabatteries.com but I am sure other online and dealer sources may beat their prices. That Yuasa site is excellent to gain information about batteries and they even offer an excellent technical manual that is downloadable about batteries and battery maintenance.

Re: Battery
YTX14H-BS same as used in R1200GS BMW plenty of power and a smaller size. I also use a Kawasaki alternator.
