Loose gearbox sprocket

I have a 79 cbx1000z with a 630 chain ,the gearbox sprocket is still slightly loose on the splines when the bolt is tight , is this normal, does anyone know ?

If you are where I think you are then I will say yes, seems odd to me also but every bike I have owned with a chain isn't tight there. But you better not believe me.
