Well, it's going to be a lot of work for sure. One thing that i always do when buying a project bike is full assessment before i start spending any money buying parts.
Even though there is a lot to assess on your cbx, start with big things like the engine, see if it turns freely, clean the carbs and try to get it started and see what condition its in.
Most work that you will do like brake and suspension rebuild is pretty straight forward. For anything that you may need use search feature on this forum and look for things you need help with. Most of us on here have already went through most things that you will so chances are you will find info. Also don't hesitate to ask, this forum is forum of forums? Members and their knowledge and will to help is amazing!
After you have all down on the paper you can decide where to start. The parts can get pricey but if you look often enough you will find them less expensive. You can also post here under classified section and wanted parts as there are members that have spares that they would like to sell.
Welcome to the forum and good luck!

Re: My $750.00 82 CBX
That's exactly what I plan to do...i did find a gas tank though that was a good deal...I figure even If i decide to sell it...it would be worth a bit more. Otherwise once i find a seat (working on a cheap one as well) then at least it will be complete and I can sit on it and pretend it runs!

I am a GLUTTON for PUNISHMENT...I have a 01 Goldwing 1800A, 76 Suzuki GT-750 (almost finished) 84 Honda VT-500 Ascot (someday project) 72 Honda CT-70 (project) and my most ambitious project to date...my poor neglected 82 CBX that was left to rot... it WILL live again or KILL ME in the process...
