Not exactly a new member however one who promised to post a picture, almost a year ago, when I joined ICOA.

So here it is. It is a 1979 and had just under 30,00 km when I bought it last June. It was said to be all original and I don't know enough to dispute the claim - but it does look original.

It came with a small sport fairing and crash bars. I removed both though this picture shows the crash bar still in place.

it is not perfect but like all CBXs always attracts a crowd. So many people remember the CBX and have some connection to it.

I'm now impatiently waiting for some warm weather to facilitate rides that can last more than an hour or so.

I picked it up in Vancouver, did a trip out to Tofino on Vancouver Island and then drove it home.

Did a quick pit stop in Winnipeg where one of our members, LamarX, was so generous as to show me a few of the basics on maintaining a CBX.

Total distance was just over 4500 km and took me, appropriately, 6ix days. I found that 6 hours in a day was all I could\want to ride. Except for the last day when I was eager to get home and made it all the way from Wawa.

BTW, some trivia - was born in St. Catharines.

six hrs a day for 6 days on Z that wasn't designed for that type of cruising...yeah that's gotta hurt, been there, done that .

I'm contemplating doing it all over again - though this time I would be riding out to VCR and then riding back.

My son and granddaughter moved to VCR in August of last year and it's time for a visit\adventure.

So if you're hankering for some more pain, you can intercept me in Calgary and sidekick me through to the Pacific.

A tricolour of CBXs would be a great sight and great opportunity to meet you both.

I'm still working on firming up my time in Vancouver however at this point it looks like August 13-19.

The hardest part in connecting is if we need it to happen on a Sat.\Sun.

I'll let you know when my itinerary (need to visit my brother in Edmonton) and dates become clearer and we can then see if it a meet is possible.

But sure sounds neat!
