Just received a bare seat pan from fellow member Barry (thanks!) :) and I would like to repair the cracks before I have it recovered. The pan material appears to be nylon. What would be a good repair medium? I was thinking something like JB Weld and come carbon fiber. Any ideas ??Seat pan cracks

Re: Seat pan cracks
Recommend some good marine grade epoxy and fiberglas or the carbon fiber. Don't forget to rough the surface good first. And, clean with some acetone.

Re: Seat pan cracks
The Pro-Link seat pans are plastic so i wouldn't use JB Weld.
Like Larry said, a marine grade or 2 part epoxy from the auto parts store would be a better idea.

Re: Seat pan cracks
Is this a seat pan for a Prolink ? How do you tell ? If it is, can I use it on a 79 ? I will use marine epoxy and glass.

It's not a Prolink. It's from a 1979.

Re: Seat pan cracks
I agree it is an early seat. Poor communication on my part.
I was just trying to convey not to use JB Weld on plastic.
