Okay, I struggle with this sometimes. While I found Nils' link humorous, are we doing a disservice to the previous poster?

If he did a search, would he find answers? (hint)

Just the response I expected, and in fact, was hoping for. :teasing-poke:

So, to clarify for the OP, some of us have had an issue or two in the past with Mr. Oldschool. It would seem that perhaps he's gotten his act together, but why take a chance when as stated above, the very best carb guys are to be found right here.

Either garage is too small or we have too many bikes. Or Momma's car needs to go outside.

With the ICOA club motto being "Dedicated to the enjoyment and preservation of the 6-Cylinder CBX-1000 motorcycle we should all be
as forthright as possible when new CBX owners join the club looking for advice. A new CBX owner would have no way of knowing Oldschool carbs
might not be the best choice as a re-builder unless he was told by members here.
Sooner or later our CBX's will belong to someone else, like they say "you can't take it with you".
If the next generation of owners doesn't have the skill or knowledge to keep these great bikes running they will only exist in books and
museums.

Agreed John, but in fact opinions vary, and sometimes it's just a better post if you talk about something you DO recommend, rather than something you do not. Yes, the reader kind of needs to read between the lines, but that specific topic is more happily left closed.

There are 11 guys I can think of right off the top of my head on three continents that I'd trust to do CBX carbs, or pretty much anything else for that matter. Dave McMunn, Mike Nixon, J.R. Luksik, Preston Marks. A lot of Bay Area guys love Dave Dondelinger. Midwest guys swear by Jim Zemenak. I'm sure there are a few others. In the UK, Steve Gosine, Chris Jones. In Australia, Rol Skate or Tony Herd. Great guys, super experienced, trustworthy, long time members of the community.

That's just my opinion.

and none of those cbx experts live near me :(

There are a number of experts on the forum who I can ask for advice but what I need is someone near to me who I can trust to work on my Z. I could send my carbs to Dave or Mike for rebuilding but sending an entire engine isn't practical.

Has there ever been any thought to posting a list shops and individuals in various regions that have the required knowledge to work on a cbx? I'm sure with all the forum members that frequent here we could compile a good number of old school cbx experts.
CBX a work in progress, still improving...GS1150EFE completed and awaiting modifications.....RD350, remnants in boxes scattered throughout the garage
